The Professional Partners are a group of accomplished individuals with backgrounds in defense, intelligence, law enforcement, logistics and trade management. These individuals advise the Fund and its portfolio companies and all are stakeholders in the Fund.

STRATEGIC PARTNERS

Brent Scowcroft   Mr. Scowcroft is the founder and President of the Scowcroft Group and one of the country’s leading experts on international policy. He served as the National Security Advisor to President Gerald Ford and to President George H.W. Bush. His extraordinary 29 year career in the U.S. Air Force began with graduation from West Point and concluded at the rank of Lieutenant General following service as the Deputy National Security Advisor. From 1982 to 1989, he was Vice Chairman of Kissinger Associates, Inc., an international consulting firm. Brent Scowcroft served as Chairman of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board from 2001 to 2005.

General John Abizaid (ret.)   General Abizaid retired from the U.S. Army as Commander of U.S. Central Command with responsibility for US security interests in 25 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Arabian Gulf region and into Central Asia. He is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable Americans on the Middle East/Gulf region and is highly respected by the region’s leaders. Earlier in his career, he was the 66th Commandant of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He also served also Director of Strategic Plans and Policy (J5) on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Director of the Joint Staff. Previously, General Abizaid commanded the 1st Infantry Division, which provided the first ground forces into Kosovo. His education includes a U.S. Army War College Senior Fellowship at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, a Masters degree in Area Studies from Harvard University and study at the University of Jordan in Amman, where he was an Olmsted Scholar.

EXECUTIVE PARTNERS

Lieutenant General Gregory Newbold (ret.)   Co-Chairman, Professional Partners   Gen. Newbold is a Managing Partner of Torch Hill and his background is provided previously.

Michael A. Sheehan   Co-Chairman, Professional Partners; Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and Critical Asset Protection   Mr. Sheehan's is a Partner of Torch Hill and his background is provided previously.

Robert Bryant   Law Enforcement   Mr. Bryant is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Crime Bureau, a position he has held for seven years. Previously he had a distinguished career with the F.B.I., culminating in his appointment as the Deputy Director.  In that position, he managed the day-to-day operations of the Bureau, and its national counterintelligence, counterterrorism and criminal programs.  He was also responsible for all aspects of operations, personnel, budget, technology and security programs, serving in many ways as a de facto chief operating officer of the F.B.I.

Brian Coleman, OBE, FRSA   Domestic Intelligence and Law Enforcement   Sir Brian enjoyed a distinguished career in operational and technical posts in the British Security Service (MI-5) where he was promoted to Assistant Director. He was a Counselor for National Security affairs in the British Embassy in Washington, where he also served as the personal representative of the Director General of MI-5 to the Directors of the CIA and the FBI.  Subsequently, Sir Brian was Director of the Police Scientific Development Branch of the Home Office, interfacing with government, police and industry.  Upon retiring from government service, he was appointed Director of Law Enforcement and National Security Business for Chelton Ltd, a group of 46 companies worldwide.

Lieutenant General Richard Kelly (ret.)   Logistics and Supply Chain Management   General Kelly served as Vice Director of Logistics for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was formerly the Director of Logistics for the U.S. Marine Corps. He is currently a Board member for both Cascade Designs, Inc. and Stanley Associates, Inc. He was an Executive Fellow at the Institute for Business and Defense Research and the Research Chair for Logistics at the Logistics Management Institute.

James Pavitt   Intelligence   A Principal at the Scowcroft Group, Mr. Pavitt was a career CIA officer with the Clandestine Service and served as Special Assistant to the President on the National Security Council staff responsible for intelligence matters. Mr. Pavitt recently retired as Deputy Director of CIA for Operations after five years in that position. Given his career, he is a nationally recognized expert of intelligence and counter-terrorism.

Lt. General Robert Shea (ret.)   Information Technology, Communications   General Shea is an expert in the areas of information infrastructure protection, cyber-terrorism and communications. At the time of his retirement from the Marine Corps, he was the director of Command, Control, Communications and Computers (J6) for both the Joint Chiefs of Staff where oversaw the activities across all DOD operations. Previously he held the same position for the Marine Corps. His other command assignments include Director of Intelligence for the U.S. Marine Corps, Director of Communications for the Pacific Command and Deputy Commander U.S. Forces in Japan.

Integral to Torch Hill’s process of identification, evaluation, and development is our access to a deep pool of technical specialists in the Partnership’s areas of investment. Product and Technical Partners are technical experts; selection and retention is dynamic and will respond as new niches are uncovered and needs arise for company- or product-specific evaluation. Presently Torch Hill retains experts in tactical equipment, armor programs, bio-terrorism, corporate and physical security, logistics, DOD acquisition processes and information security.

BrigGen Jim Feigley (Ret)  Former Commander of the Marine Corps Systems Command. Consultant to major defense contractors on defense acquisition programs.

BrigGen Russ Howard (Ret)  Special Forces. Director, Counter-terrorism Center, Tufts University.

Commander Norm Carley (Ret)  Navy SEAL. Former CEO and majority owner, AMTI, Inc.

Art Brown  Twenty-five year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency and the former Chief Executive Officer of the US subsidiary of Control Risks Group, a London-based business risk consultancy.

Dave Quilter   Retired senior officer in the Drug Enforcement Agency. Chief Security Officer of three Fortune 500 companies.

Colonel Michael Fallon (Ret)  Colonel, USMC (Ret). Expert on expeditionary command and control.

William Parrish  Former Director of Intelligence, DHS. Former DHS Liaison to FBI. Former Director of Counter-terrorism for US Customs and Border Patrol.

Paul Kurtz  Former director for cyber-security, National Security Council. Former Executive Director of the Cyber-security Industry Alliance.

Dr. James Richardson  Former Program Manager for armor at DARPA. Former VP for Technology and Chief Scientist, The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.
